tree skirts, face biting, and hand kissing

jen and vj threw a little fete at vj's last weekend, i attended and i had a very chill, fun time. wore a skirt i had just bought at h&m that resembles a tree skirt, but i think i pulled it off -- at least noone asked me if it was indeed a tree skirt. jen's friend josie, who is delightful, actually complimented me on it. so there you go.

had a delightful sunday shopping and yakking and eating with jen. it was fricking cold, but you do what you gotta do. jen introduced me to the term face-biting-- meaning copying someone's style. thought she was on crack until i heard it being used on tv. sorry to be such a doubter, jen.

am trying to decide whether or not to do traditional handshake/show of respect thing when i first greet efe's parents when i fly to turkey on friday. efe asked me to do it, said that it's the polite thing to do, but it doesn't feel right some how. the move involves kissing the elder person (i.e. efe's parents') hand, then touching the back of their hand to your forehead as you kind of bow over their hand. then you do the traditional two-cheek kiss. i of course want to make a good impression on efe's dad, who i haven't met yet, so i'll probably do it, but i feel kinda silly kissing a grown man's hand.

calendario romano

saw a blurb about this calendar of "hot priests" in the redeye yesterday. as any good lapsed catholic would, i checked it out. http://www.calendarioromano.co.uk/
